A trio of SCREAMBOX films will receive rare theatrical screenings as part of the first annual Happy Fright Film Fest, taking place this weekend at the Fillmore Town Theatre in Fillmore, CA.
The festivities kick off on October 18 with a 16mm showing of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. On October 19, SCREAMBOX favorites Creeping Death and Night of the Missing will screen with filmmaker Q&As alongside the upcoming Cannibal Comedian.
Other entertainment includes stand-up comedy by 3 from Hell’s Pancho Moler, a sneak peek at the short Bellevue Bob featuring horror icon Bill Moseley, live music by psychobilly punk band Six Silver Bullets, vendor marketplace, classic arcade games, and more.
In Matt Sampere’s Halloween slasher Creeping Death, “Tim’s mother has brain cancer, but his friends steal a sack unleashing the Aos Si Celtic spirit on Halloween night. They must survive the night or sacrifice their lives to the spirit. The spirit pursues them for their trespass.”
In Samuel Gonzalez Jr. and Matthew Hersh’s holiday horror anthology Night of the Missing, “A secretive small town sheriff gets a visit from a mysterious woman who recounts bizarre stories involving missing persons.”
In Sean Haitz’s horror-comedy Cannibal Comedian, “A psychopathic cannibal, fed up with his lack of ambition, tries his hand at stand-up comedy in an attempt to satisfy his appetite for normalcy.”
Happy Fright Film Fest ticks are on sale now.
