It looks like HBO has figured out a way to continue “True Detective,” which they’ve been teasing for a while now, with “True Detective: Night Country” now in the works!
“Night Country” will be the show’s fourth season, THR reports, with Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid) on board to write, and Barry Jenkins (“The Underground Railroad”) producing.
THR notes, “Should season four move forward — it’s currently in development — Lopez would direct the pilot in addition to serving as an exec producer.”
This will be the show’s first season without creator Nic Pizzolatto. “Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are expected to return as executive producers,” THR notes.
No word yet on the storyline for the new season. Stay tuned.
“True Detective” premiered on HBO back in 2014, with the stellar first season being followed by second and third seasons that didn’t quite garner the same acclaim as that initial outing.
