Dedicated to honoring the life and work of late horror master George A. Romero and supporting a new generation of filmmakers and artists inspired by his legacy, The George A. Romero Foundation is looking for a little help from horror fans this Halloween season.
The team explains, “Last year, the community came together and raised over $15,000 which helped us with exciting projects including the live release of George’s lost film, The Amusement Park as well as the launch of the new mascot, Garchy.
“This year, we’re counting on you again to help the foundation continue keeping George’s legacy alive by restoring his work and supporting young filmmakers with grants.”
The George A. Romero Foundation is looking to raise $20,000 by Halloween – October 31, 2022 – and they’re currently offering up special perks for those who donate at certain levels…
• The first 50 people to donate $75 USD get a signed print of Garchy by The GARF’s Artist in Residence Ryan Carr.
• The first 50 people to donate $100 USD get a fundraiser-exclusive 2022 Garchy Halloween t-shirt.
• The first 5 people to donate $500 USD get a “Garchy-fied” George A. Romero plushie, modified and hand-painted by The GARF’s Art Director Christian Stavrakis.
• Any person whose donation exceeds $1,000 USD will get a one-on-one phone call with The GARF President and Founder Suzanne Romero!
