Old school Sega Genesis/Mega Drive fans have been getting a sprinkling of new releases for a while now. Seriously, fans have been releasing games that can be played on your 30-year-old console. Fans can expect another one soon in Sasha Sarko’s upcoming horror adventure game Sacred Line II.
A sequel and a prequel to Sacred Line Genesis, Sacred Line II will be released on cartridges by Mega Cat Studios later this year. The story follows Sarah in an alternate reality of 1999, where Yugoslavia still exists. Sarah is kidnapped by the religious cult Svete Namjere (“Holy Intentions”). After being attacked by one of the cult members, Sarah dies, but is brought back into the world of the living aided by a mysterious force. Not only must Sarah survive in a crumbling Yugoslavia, she must also now prevent demons taking over the world.
Pre-orders for Sacred Line II are up now, and offer several levels. The $24.99 base level gets you a digital version of the game with your name mentioned in the main menu, as well as the game’s soundtrack. The Founder’s version ups that with the game featuring your name in future physical releases, while the pricier $499.99 Survivor DLC version gets you starring in your own DLC for the game!
Of course, if you’d like to try the game before you plunk down your money, you can do that with the game’s demo. You’ll need an emulator to play the rom image, so grab something like Kega Fusion to get started.
