If you fancy horror anthology video games like the Dread X Collection, Boomfire Games and publisher Jandusoft have a treat for you later this week with The Creepy Syndrome. Arriving on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, the Xbox One and the Xbox Series on April 27th (the Steam version is currently listed as “Coming Soon”), the anthology offers up a mix of different art styles to go along with its tales of psychological horror.
In a mysterious and strange consultation with the psychiatrist, he analyses you by making you play disturbing video games, each with different endings. You experience past traumas, occult cults, a cursed bunker and more. Each of them has a meaning, and as you progress through his analysis, things get progressively creepier, leaving you questioning why you’re really there, or how it’s all going to end. Discover the mysterious relationship you have with your psychiatrist, who has something very special in mind for you.
The aforementioned video games in The Creepy Syndrome each feature a unique pixel art style, from retro 1-bit a la panstasz’s World of Horror, 8-bit, Game Boy and more. Each game is presented in a different different ways to play each story, with all of them intertwining with each other.
