After giving fans a taste of the insanity that awaits them, developer 5WORD Team and publisher tinyBuild have announced that their psychological horror anthology The Fridge is Red will be releasing on PC via Steam next month!
The first-person horror anthology series with PS1-inspired visuals will release Steam on September 27th. And in case you couldn’t get enough of the visuals, 5WORD Team has released a new trailer for The Fridge is Red announcing the release date that has plenty of that throwback graphical aesthetic.
The Fridge is Red centres on Frank, as his mundane tasks and life’s complexities manifest into hauntings after a client leaves an unusual red fridge for repairs. Complicating matters is Frank’s missing daughter, and thanks to the notes strewn about his basement, the red fridge has something to do with it all. As the appliance emits an evil presence, Frank soon finds himself in nightmarish scenarios spread across six episodes in various locations, including an eerie remote highway, abandoned hospital, frightful cemetery, and an ill-fated elevator. Each episode explores a specific theme and experiments with different gameplay ideas.
The demo is still very much available, so head on over to The Fridge is Red‘s Steam page and check it out ahead of the game’s full release.
