Nominations for the Emmy Awards 2023 have been announced this morning during a live ceremony that was broadcast on the official Emmys website, and the horror genre is well represented in multiple categories. Horror nominees this year include “Wednesday,” “The Last of Us” and “Yellowjackets,” as well as the straight-to-Hulu Predator movie Prey!
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, last year’s Prey has been nominated for “Outstanding TV Movie” at the 2023 Emmy Awards, eligible due to its direct-to-streaming release strategy.
In all categories, Succession holds this year’s top spot with 27 Emmy nominations followed by The Last of Us (24), The White Lotus (23) and Ted Lasso (21).
