After teasing their upcoming stealth Survival Horror title last week, developer Villainous Games Studio has pulled back the curtain on Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt, announcing that the game will be coming to Steam later this year. Not only that, but for those looking to get their hands dirty with Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt will get their chance later this month during Steam Next Fest.
Touted as a mix of Dead by Daylight and Inscryption, Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt sees players step into the role of an appointed Warden tasked with saving the cursed village of Luna Nova. As mentioned last week, the objective for players is to gather precious ambrosia throughout a “sinister, nonlinear environment” to find salvation. The impending nightmare of the Devourer lurks throughout the fields, so a strategic execution and nerves of steel are vital if Wardens hope to see daylight once again.
Before each night of the harvest, Wardens must decide how much health they are willing to sacrifice in order to gain advantageous tools found across the Farmlands of Luna Nova. As the moon rises on each night, cards are drawn to determine the fate of the Wardens. Cards may bring peculiar abilities, a bit of welcomed luck, and modifiers that affect both the environment and the Devourer alike.
Sporting dense, hand-drawn environments, Harvest Hunt sports an unnerving score from composer Jeff Broadbent, whose work includes Resident Evil: Resistance and Assassin’s Creed.
Villainous Games Studio will have a demo for Harvest Hunt debuting during Steam Next Fest on June 19th.
