The novel hasn’t even been published yet – it’s releasing May 21, 2024 – but Django Wexler’s How to Become the Dark Lord (and Die Trying) is already getting an adaptation.
Deadline reports tonight that Adam Wingard (The Guest, Godzilla x Kong) will produce the small screen adaptation of the fantasy sci-fi novel for Legendary Television.
The novel has been described as “Groundhog Day meets Guardians of the Galaxy.”
How to Become the Dark Lord “follows a young woman from our modern world who finds herself stuck in a time loop within a realm ruled by the Dark Lord.
“Tired of dying over and over, she finally decides to stage a revolution and become the Dark Lord herself.”
Wingard will produce alongside Jeremy Platt (Hap & Leonard).
