Fans of the Into The Dead series will be happy to know that PikPok are back at it with a new entry, announcing Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days for PC via Steam. No release date has been announced for Our Darkest Days, which has a appropriately bleak trailer accompanying the announcement.
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days takes place in Texas, 1980. Walton City has fallen to a zombie outbreak, and escape is the only chance for survival. Unlike the previous entries in the series which were distinctly FPS, Our Darkest Days is a side-scrolling survival game that tasks players with guiding a group of survivors from refuge to refuge in an attempt to get everyone out of the city alive.
As you might expect, you’ll be scavenging for supplies, crafting tools and weapons, as well as fighting off the undead, all the while keeping constant movement as the zombie threat closes in. While their experiences will lead survivors to gain new skills, players will also need to manage their physical and psychological needs, as Our Darkest Days has a permadeath mechanic for your group of survivors.
“The Into the Dead franchise has enjoyed incredible success over the last 10 years,” said PikPok CEO Mario Wynands in a press release. “That can be attributed to our willingness to keep innovating, focusing on delivering an exceptional player experience, and always striving to bring new fans into the ever-expanding world of Into the Dead.”
Currently, you can check out the latest entry in the series, Into the Dead 2, on Android, iOS and the Nintendo Switch, as well as Netflix Games.
