Fatal Attraction and Jacob’s Ladder director Adrian Lyne recently completed his first film since 2002’s Unfaithful, an erotic thriller titled Deep Water. The film stars Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck, and it’s been bumped all around the release calendar due to the pandemic.
When can you expect to see it? Deadline reports this afternoon that Lyne’s Deep Water is now going straight-to-streaming, forgoing a planned theatrical release entirely.
Deadline explains, “We understand that Hulu will get domestic play of the Ben Affleck-Ana de Armas movie while Amazon will have streaming for the picture overseas.”
No release date has been set at this time. Stay tuned.
“Affleck and de Armas play an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy as Highsmith exposed the surface facade of American suburban life.”
The cast also includes Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Tracy Letts (Lady Bird), Rachel Blanchard (Fargo), Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan), Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth), Kristen Connolly (House Of Cards), and Jade Fernandez (Little). The film is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel, adapted by Zack Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) and Sam Levinson (Euphoria).
