Jamie Lee Curtis has ended her time with the Halloween franchise multiple times over the years, but she always manages to find a way to return. First in Halloween H20 back in 1998, and of course later in David Gordon Green’s trilogy that came to a close with Halloween Ends. But is she finally ruling out another return? Or is there still life left in Laurie Strode?
Taking to Instagram this afternoon, Jamie Lee Curtis has shared an interesting new interview piece with Entertainment Weekly where she seems to leave that door slightly ajar…
The article’s headline reads: “Jamie Lee Curtis cryptically teases Halloween future after Laurie Strode’s final film,” but how much of that is merely Halloween Day clickbait?
Well, here’s what Jamie Lee Curtis told EW during a phone call this week…
“I have hung up my bell-bottoms and my pale blue button-down shirt, and I have relinquished [Laurie] to the ages with a warm, ‘aloha,’ and a thanks for all the years and memories.
And yet, if I’ve learned anything in my 65 years on the planet, it’s never say never. Goodbye.”
Entertainment Weekly notes that Jamie Lee Curtis then promptly hung up the phone after her abrupt “Goodbye,” leaving them to speculate on what exactly she was hinting at.
She then posted screen-grabs from that very Entertainment Weekly piece on her personal Instagram account, including the following series of cryptic emojis:
What does any of this mean? Is she just having a little fun on Halloween, or is there something more to Jamie Lee’s cryptic tease? If we’ve learned anything, “never say never” is indeed the answer to all of those questions. And it seems JLC is never truly done with Michael Myers.
