‘Killer Cakes’ – Prime Video Orders Blumhouse Two-Part Competition Baking Special

What’s Halloween without some killer baking competitions? Move over, Food Network, Prime Video announced today that it has ordered the new deliciously-gory, Blumhouse Television competition baking show, Killer Cakes.

The entire two-part special is set to debut exclusively on Prime Video on October 8, 2024.

Killer Cakes is hosted by horror veteran Matthew Lillard (Scream, Five Nights at Freddy’s) with expert judges, Scream Queen and Talk Scary to Me co-host Danielle Harris (Halloween Franchise) and experimental food artist and cookbook author Nikk Alcaraz (Peculiar Baking).

About the special: “From horror visionaries Blumhouse Television, and Cake Boss creators High Noon Entertainment, Killer Cakes is a one-of-a-kind competition show where bakers with terrifying skills attempt to win some of the most frightening challenges ever produced for television. Contestants will work with the best horror special effects artists in Hollywood to unleash their twisted imaginations and create cakes so disgusting, so disturbing, and so realistic, it’s the stuff of nightmares.”

Ruth Amsel serves as showrunner for the two-part special, with Executive Producers Jason Blum and Gretchen Palek for Blumhouse Television, and Scott Feely for High Noon Entertainment. In addition to his role as host, Matthew Lillard also serves as Executive Producer. Killer Cakes is produced by Blumhouse Television, ITV America’s High Noon Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios.
Check out images below that preview the upcoming series. This baking special seems far more rooted in horror than the usual Halloween baking series that arrive this time of year, especially with teases of notable horror guests like Tom Woodruff Jr. (Prey, the Alien franchise).
