Team17’s ‘80s black comedy slasher adventure Killer Frequency has hit the airwaves today, letting players come as close to playing as Stretch in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 as they can get (for now). Accompanying the launch is the customary launch trailer that sets the mood immediately as the serial killer known as The Whistling Man makes his presence known.
Set in a Midwestern US town, Killer Frequency follows Forrest Nash, a washed-up DJ and presenter of the ‘The Scream’ late night show. You’ve just started your shift when someone calls in with a horrifying discovery. What follows sees you meeting with a variety of eccentric small-town personalities including potential victims and suspects as you try to help each of your callers survive the night.
It won’t be easy, as your interactions with callers to the show could help prevent the callers’ grisly fates, or seal them for The Whistling Man. That’s why you’ll be using a variety of conversation options while listening carefully for clues and information, as well as solving puzzles around the studio that could help each caller survive the night, as well as bring you one step closer to unmasking the killer.
Killer Frequency is available now on PC via Steam as well as the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. And for VR fans, you can also pick up the game on the Meta Quest 2 today, as well!
