Okay, we all know Akira Yamaoka‘s soundtrack for Silent Hill 2 is iconic. And while Yamaoka will be reusing the same score for Bloober Team’s upcoming remake, this new version will include newly recorded material, including remade tracks and new songs. In fact, Konami has posted a preview of the soundtrack that you can listen to below.
Konami has also announced on X a “massive” 3-disc set for the Silent Hill 2 remake, which will be released on November 20, and will be packed with songs “carefully selected by Yamaoka himself.” At the moment, pre-orders are up for Japan only, so fingers crossed that North American and Europe get their links soon.
For those curious, the original soundtrack for Silent Hill 2 was last issued with the now sold out Silent Hill Sounds Box back in 2011, and it only contained 30 tracks (compared to the remake’s 93 tracks). You can see the full tracklist for the remake’s soundtrack from the YouTube video comments.
Silent Hill 2 will launch for PC via Steam and the PlayStation 5 on October 8. Pre-orders are also available.
