Based on Bethesda’s video game franchise, a “Fallout” TV series is in the works over at Amazon, and Variety reports this afternoon that Kyle MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks”) will star!
Xelia Mendes-Jones and Aaron Moten have also joined the cast this week, alongside the previously announced Ella Purnell (“Yellowjackets”) and Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight).
The “Fallout” TV series comes from Amazon Studios, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s Kilter Films, and Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
Jonathan Nolan will direct the show’s premiere episode. Showrunners for the series will be Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner.
Deadline reports, “The world of Fallout is one where the future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s explodes upon itself through a nuclear war in 2077. The magic of the Fallout world is the harshness of the wasteland set against the previous generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy.”
According to the site, Walton Goggins is playing a ghoul, one of the “mutated humans who experienced prolonged radiation exposure amid the Great War.”
