Liminal horror is back on the menu with Mascot Bro Studio’s Backrooms: Partygoers, which is now available on PC via Steam (with a 30% discount until November 12), PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and the Nintendo Switch.
Backrooms: Partygoers traps players in the heart of Level 0 of the Backrooms—a seemingly endless maze of eerie, yellowed rooms lit by flickering fluorescent lights. But you’re not alone; you’re being hunted by the twisted “Partygoers,” creatures with grinning faces that eagerly seek to drag you into their horrifying “celebration.”
Equipped with only a scanner, players must navigate the disorienting maze, searching for anomaly crates. These crates are your lifeline, containing clues and items that shed light on the Backrooms’ mysteries, as well as essential supplies that could save you from a deadly encounter.
But beware of the Partygoers. These creatures roam the Backrooms, lurking around corners, with an unnerving laugh that warns you of their approach. They respond to sound and movement, so stealth is crucial to avoid detection. Your scanner detects hidden anomaly crates that offer critical resources and lore pieces. But using it can attract Partygoers if you’re not careful.
You must balance your use of the scanner and keep a low profile in order to survive. Avoid unnecessary risks, hide quickly, and always be prepared to run when a Partygoer draws near.
