Brutus have today shared their brand new single “Dust”,the first new music from the band since 2020’s stand-alone track “Sand”.
“On the song, singer Stefanie Mannaerts voice has grown in stature and control as she explores the feeling of being drained by the changing demands of a particularly intense friendship,” explains the press release.
“‘Dust’ was born out of the frustration of having friends with demands and expectations that were way too high,” said the band in a statement. “It’s a song about being at breaking point; pissed off about everything and everyone. ‘Dust’ is honest, direct and unfiltered. It’s a very special and personal song for us, which is why we wanted this to be the first new song for people to hear.”
“Dust” was written as part of the new album sessions in a rehearsal space in Ghent.
