Bloody Disgusting’s V/H/S/94 is now streaming on Shudder and we’re so excited to hear what you think. Since we don’t review our own movies, hit the comments below and tell us your thoughts on the fourth entry in our anthology series. What’s your favorite segment?
To celebrate the release, Bloody’s The Boo Crew Podcast spend a full hour with the filmmakers behind the new tape to chat about the process and how it all came together. V/H/S/94 was over four years in the making. Let’s hope the next tape is recorded much quicker…
In the below episode, The Boo Crew dives into the horror of quarantine filmmaking with Simon Barrett, Chloe Okuno, Jennifer Reeder, and Ryan Prows.
Barrett, who directed “The Empty Wake”, helped co-create the V/H/S franchise and also directed the second film’s wraparound. Simon just saw the release of feature directorial debut, Seance, starring Suki Waterhouse, and also penned several classic horror films from Dead Birds to A Horrible Way to Die, You’re Next, The Guest, and Blair Witch.
Okuno, behind the popular segment, “Storm Drain” (Hail Raatma!), directed the phenomenal must-see AFI horror short “Slut” (watch it here). She’s an outstanding new voice in horror and recently filmed Watcher for Spooky Pictures.
Chicago-based Jennifer Reeder took the reins of the entire film’s wraparound, “Holy Hell”. Reeder is best known among horror fans for her incredible arthouse indie Knives and Skin, released by IFC Films back in 2019. Reeder was also named one of 20 filmmakers shaping the future of cinema by the great Bong Joon Ho (Indiewire).
Last and certainly not least is Ryan Prows, the madman behind the action-packed, ultraviolent, and off-the-charts cool indie Lowlife, also an IFC Films release. Get ready because Prows is about to blow shit up with “Terror”.
