After earning rave reviews on the festival scene from many including Bloody Disgusting’s Meagan Navarro and Matt Donato, gaming horror movie Livescreamers was released today.
Michelle Iannantuono’s Livescreamers is now available on Blu-ray and VOD outlets.
This timely take on screenlife found footage follows an ensemble of video gamers led by Michael Smallwood (Halloween Kills, The Righteous Gemstones), Christopher Trindade (Worst Laid Plans), and Ryan LaPlante (Holy Hell). After taking home the George A. Romero Fellowship at Salem Horror, and touring festivals including Panic Fest, Unnamed Footage, and Nevermore, the film currently sits at a fresh 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In Livescreamers, a group of content creators are pitted against each other by a gruesome video game with lethal stakes.
In addition to taking audiences on a thrilling ride, the horror film tackles issues of parasocial relationships, corporate greed, and the crushing unsustainability of online creation.
