Fresh off the release of his new thriller Trap, which just passed $80 million at the worldwide box office, M. Night Shyamalan has announced that work has begun on his next movie.
“As a ritual for each film, I pick a notebook that speaks to me and I write notes, ideas for the new film in that,” Shyamalan explained in an Instagram post over the weekend. “When it’s overflowing with ideas, I go to outline then script. This is the notebook for movie 17!”
Shyamalan’s post continues, “As #TrapMovie passes 80 million in theaters, I am so grateful and begin the new one inspired by all the support you have given me over the years.”
But first up, M. Night Shyamalan is not yet done with 2024. He’s the executive producer of the upcoming thriller Caddo Lake, which is set to premiere on Max on October 10, 2024.
In the film, “When an 8-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes on Caddo Lake, a series of past deaths and disappearances begin to link together, forever altering a broken family’s history.”
As for the plot of Shyamalan’s 17th movie as director, you’ll have to stay tuned…
