After getting Dave Bautista on board for that feel good trailer, Warner Bros and NetherRealm have announced another surprise for Mortal Kombat 1, with Megan Fox lending her voice and likeness to Nitara, the newest playable character announced for the upcoming fighting game.
Initially debuting in 2002’s Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, the vampiric Nitara hails from the dark and desolate realm of Vaeternus. Nitara fights to protect her race of vampires and utilizes her ferocious claws, razor-sharp fangs, and aerial abilities to take on any opponent in her path.
“As I’ve been doing the [voice recording] sessions, it does force me to tap into an area of myself that I’m not comfortable,” explains Fox. “I’ve had a lot of fun doing it, and it’s caused me to be more free with myself.”
Megan Fox (who grew up playing the original Mortal Kombat) is already no stranger to dabbling in video games, having more recently been part of Blizzard’s promotion of Diablo IV where she delivered eulogies for fallen warriors.
“I think it’s just an opportunity that anybody would want, because we did all grow up playing the [original] game, and it is one of the greatest video games of all time.”
Mortal Kombat 1 arrives on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
