It’s been eight years since the Netflix release of Mike Flanagan’s home invasion horror movie Hush, but it’s interesting to note that the film is no longer streaming on Netflix. In fact, it’s currently unavailable to stream or rent/purchase ANYWHERE, and we’ve also never gotten a physical media release. In other words, you cannot watch Hush at all right now.
But that’s about to change…
Hush is set to be unleashed for the first time on Digital on August 27, 2024 by Shout! Studios in collaboration with Flanagan, Intrepid Pictures, and Blumhouse!
The digital release of Mike Flanagan’s Hush will be available for purchase and/or rent across all major digital entertainment platforms in the United States and Canada.
Flanagan previews, “Hush is one of the projects that is closest to my heart, and I cannot think of a better home than Shout! I’m so glad that people will finally be able to rent or purchase the film digitally. I’ve always loved how Shout! Studios champions and treasures their titles, and I also cannot wait for what’s to come… fans of Hush are going to have much to celebrate!”
Directed by Mike Flanagan, Hush boasts a stellar cast of Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass), John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom, 10 Cloverfield Lane), Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, Grey’s Anatomy), and Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica, The Fall of the House of Usher). Written by Flanagan and Siegel, Hush is produced by Trevor Macy, p.g.a. of Intrepid Pictures and Jason Blum, p.g.a. of Blumhouse.
Hush is a gripping horror thriller that centers on a deaf writer who has retreated into the woods to live a solitary life. She must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window. Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the film received critical acclaim following its debut at SXSW in 2016 and its initial launch on a major streaming platform. Stephen King praised the film, saying it was “up there with Halloween, and even more, Wait Until Dark. White knuckle time.” Vanity Fair also described it as “a tense, breathless horror film.”
As excitement builds for this digital release and upcoming activities related to Hush, Shout! Studios and Mike Flanagan will announce additional news for fans in the coming months.
