We got our first taste of gameplay for the upcoming Dead Space remake last week. Now Electronic Arts and developer Motive have released an extended gameplay walkthrough that not only shows off more Dead Space eye candy, but also compares the remake with the 2008 original.
The extended gameplay trailer is all part of the 14th anniversary of the original Dead Space, which EA and Motive are celebrating via livestream, featuring an interview with Motive’s Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola and Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme.
As for the extended walkthrough, Ducharme walks viewers through a more in-depth sneak peek at the reimagined USG Ishimura, showing off key improvements including updated visual fidelity, the interconnected ship, the intensity director, and more.
Speaking of the Intensity Director, the idea behind it is to make your exploration of the Ishimura “even more intense, challenging, and unpredictable.” That includes changing up enemies, lighting, and ambiance each time you return to a previously explored area, which keeps you on your toes, and the tension high.
Dead Space can be pre-ordered now from EA, and is set to arrive January 27, 2023 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Limited Run Games is also offering up the Collector’s Edition for the remake, which includes a bunch of goodies including a light-up, wearable Isaac helmet.
