If you’re looking to enjoy multiplayer antics with Supermassive’s The Quarry when it arrives next month, you’ll unfortunately have to wait a bit. The game’s director, Will Byles, took to Twitter to announce that the multiplayer component will be pushed back a month from the game’s June 10th release date, to July 8th.
Per Byles’ message, the team “made the difficult decision” to delay the online multiplayer mode for The Quarry “to deliver the best possible experience” for fans. Luckily, the singleplayer mode is expected to release as scheduled.
From the minds behind Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology (which has its own upcoming new entry starring Jessie Buckley in The Devil in Me), The Quarry centres on a group of summer camp counsellors whose party plans are threatened along with their lives by blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister.
The Quarry, starring genre vets Ted Raimi, David Arquette, Lance Henriksen, and Lin Shaye, will release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
