It’s been a long time coming, but Capcom’s Devil May Cry is finally coming to Netflix in a new anime adaptation. Executive produced by Adi Shankar (who is also the Executive Producer of Netflix’s Castlevania series) and animated by South Korean animation studio Studio Mir, Netflix dropped a new teaser for the show earlier this afternoon.
This isn’t the first Devil May Cry anime adapation. Longtime fans will remember the 12-episode OVA (which Michael covered a few years back). There hasn’t been any info as of yet regarding the new series, nor is there an official release date. However, the teaser by Netflix lists Devil May Cry as “coming soon.”
Netflix wasn’t done there, as they also revealed the first look at Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which is being produced by Legendary with Crystal Dynamics, with Tasha Huo as the showrunner on the series. The show picks up following the events of Crystal Dynamics’ recent Tomb Raider trilogy (2013’s Tomb Raider, 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider, and 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider), and has Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One) performing voice duties for Lara.
Meanwhile, Netflix has another Castlevania adaptation coming up in a few days with the premiere of Castlevania: Nocturne on September 28, 2023.
