After a brutal year, Netflix is making tons of changes, one of which is going back to the basics. The shocking renewal of Tim Robinson’s “I Think You Should Leave” set the table and now the streamer has given a Season 6 order for its hit sci-fi anthology series “Black Mirror”.
The sixth season will likely follow the same pattern as the fifth, which reduced the number of episodes down to three but extended them to feature film length, a source tells Deadline.

“Black Mirror” has always seamlessly blended entertainment with social commentary and is more “Twilight Zone” than the new “Twilight Zone”.
The fifth season of “Black Mirror” premiered in the summer of 2019 and featured big names that included Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin.
For those missing out on the fun, “Black Mirror” is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.
Expect more “Black Mirror” in 2023.
