With Nightdive resurrecting Westwood Studios’ Blade Runner, you’re probably wondering why more developers haven’t jumped on the license, especially with Ridley Scott having plans for a Blade Runner 2099 series with Amazon. According to Try Hard Guides, that’s about to change, thanks to 110 Industries and their upcoming Blade Runner adaptation.
The announcement that 110 Industries had acquired the Blade Runner license came from the developer’s new studio in Switzerland, with a proposed 2025 release date. Not much else is known about the project, which will apparently have an official announcement and trailer in the near future.
“110 Industries is a really ambitious company with a compelling vision and an exciting slate of upcoming titles, so this is a project that I’m really excited to be involved in,” states EA found Trip Hawkins, who joined 110 Industries earlier this year in an advisory role. “I believe they have the potential to make a big impact on the industry and I’m looking forward to doing everything I can to assist the company in delivering on that.”
As for Nightdive’s upcoming remaster of Blade Runner, the game is still currently in development, despite having run into delays.
