With Dune: Spice Wars now in Early Access on Steam, developer Funcom has released their roadmap for the RTS, touting big plans for the game. These include the heavily-anticipated multiplayer component, and the arrival of a new mystery faction.
Both multiplayer, which will include co-op or free-for-all modes with up to four players, and the new faction, which will include a new victory condition, will be coming later this Summer. Multiplayer is the current priority for Funcom, which also aims to introduce the series’ iconic characters as councillors into the game as controllable hero units later this year. Along with it, new units and tactical elements will be introduced in the form of the Air & Sand Update.
Funcom isn’t done with those updates, either. The roadmap for Dune: Spice Wars does promise more updates in the future, though specifics are obviously being kept under wraps. The developer does state that there will be “improvements across the board with every update”, along with the new features, so it’s definitely something to look forward to later this year.
