Crytek is getting into the Halloween spirit for Hunt: Showdown 1896, announcing a new Harvest of Ghosts in-game event, along with a new game mode, Bounty Clash. Both are out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. While Harvest of Ghosts runs from October 16 until November 25, the Bounty Clash game mode is available from now until October 20, after which it will run every weekend until the conclusion of the Harvest of Ghosts event.
A new experimental game mode, Bounty Clash pits players in a random compound with a dead Boss Target awaiting a banishment, which will yield a single Bounty Token for teams to fight over. In a quick and ruthless fight, teams will be pitted against each other, rushing the Bounty Token to extract it within the 15-minute time limit. Raising the stakes even further, Bounty Clash takes place within modified versions of the Mammon’s Gulch and the recently-revamped Stillwater Bayou compounds.
Meanwhile, Harvest of Ghosts brings many exciting changes to players during the Halloween season. Pact Traits like Blast Sight (which shows the origin of gunshots and explosions in Dark Sight) and Pain Sense (which shows enemies who have been shot, lit on fire, or poisoned in Dark Sight) change the way players will approach their fights. In addition to three Pacts and new weapons such as the Bomb Launcher and Maynard Sniper, as well as new variants like the Auto-4 Shorty, Centennial Pointman, and Rival 78 Mace, the event also brings the Dark Dynamite Satchel, which can be detonated remotely through Dark Sight, as well as a Hand Crossbow Revive Bolt among many other changes, fixes, and tweaks.
If that’s not enough, there will be something extra spooky is making its way into the Hunt universe, which will be revealed closer to Halloween.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.
