Five Nights at Freddy’s fans will have another title to sink their teeth into soon enough with Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit. Only this time around, developer/publisher Mega Cat Studios are doing things a little different than what we’ve come to expect from the series.
Revealed during the Guerrilla Collective Showcase, Into the Pit revolves around Oswald, who wishes that his town, and his life, weren’t so boring. That all changes when he explores the ball pit in a rundown pizzeria and finds himself in the past. However, as one might expect, Oswald will encounter something that will have him questioning his wish.
Rather than the usual gameplay from a Five Nights at Freddy’s title, Into the Pit instead is a full-on horror adventure. You’ll travel between time periods, gather clues, and obviously outrun the threat relentlessly hounding you. You’ll need to move fast and stay hidden in order to survive. But be careful—it’s not just your own life that’s on the line. Oswald’s father and children from the past could all meet their end if you don’t save them.
The trailer ends with a bit of a mystery of its own, leading viewers to the Jeff’s Pizza website in all its Web 1.0 glory. Apart from a QR code, the website hints at the opening happening on June 12.
No release date was announced for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit, though it’s currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Meanwhile, the follow-up to Emma Tammi‘s 2023 film adaptation of the game series is now scheduled for release in 2025.
