New “The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow” Module for TTRPG ‘Liminal Horror’ Now Available Digitally

Last month, Aaron took a look at Goblin Archives’ TTRPG Liminal Horror and its module, The Bloom. Goblin Archives has just added to the fun with another module that was released recently in The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow, the first hardback adventure module for Liminal Horror that’s currently on pre-order from BackerKit. It’s also available digitally via Goblin Archvies’ itch.io page.

As in the main game, players take on the role of Investigators attempting to figure out what has been going on in the town of Hungry Hollow. Brea, a former Investigator, had recently moved back to the town, but all communication from her has ceased. It turns out that a large part of the town’s population has been secretly implanted with parasitic flesh bees. Those not given the “gift” of the bee are concerned with the changes happening throughout town. People have gone missing unexpectedly, some have come back different, and all the animals in the area are long gone. All the while, Brea and her “followers” are preparing for a community-wide baby shower to usher in the birth of Trigona, God-Queen of the Flesh Hive.

The new module obviously was inspired by Aliens, but also has as a mix of Parasite Eve and Silent Hill, and even John Carpenter fare like The Fog and In the Mouth of Madness. The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow contains multiple formats for play, 8 custom archetypes for use when creating your character, as well as 56 keyed locations throughout town and 89 NPCs. There’s also a custom kidnapping procedure the Apiarists use each night to grow their ranks, and four factions throughout the town trying to forward their plans or learn about what is going on.

As mentioned, the hardcover version of the module from BackerKit still has its funding campaign going on, with several pledge levels available for digital and physical versions of The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow.

Needless to say, you’ve got plenty of content for your next RPG night.
