Byte Barrel is trying something new after giving Lovecraft fans some love with the Forgive Me Father series. The developer has announced a vampire-themed first-person shooter in TRUST, which will be coming to Steam. The game was revealed during Steam’s Boomstock 2024 event, and will feature immersive elements, comic-style graphics, lots of blood, and “surprisingly stylish patrol units.”
In TRUST, you play as a vampire who has awakened from a centuries-long sleep. The world you knew is long gone. Discovering the truth about the immense power that vampire blood offers changed the course of the war between humanity and creatures of the night. Unfortunately, your kind was not on the winning side in this war. As a result, blood reactors and batteries from vampire hearts began generating electricity for entire cities, powering cars, everyday objects, as well as deadly weapons. Now, you’re out to change that.
On your quest to regaining your power, you can choose to openly engage in open combat with humans using their technology and weapons, or remain true to your vampiric abilities. Either way, you need the most precious substance in the world to function. That means you’ll need to hunt in order to obtain blood and satisfy your unending hunger.
To do so, you can either rely on stealth and cunning, or go in guns blazing. Utilize your surroundings to your advantage with numerous interactive objects scattered throughout the world. Every run offers a different experience, allowing you to find your own playstyle. But remember, as a vampire, you’ll need to be aware of things like sunlight. You’ll need to be smart about achieving your goals, either at night or during the day.
