When a prominent family is terrorized by a demonic force, the priest is called upon by Bishop Canelo (Berkoff) to root out the evil, but he soon realizes the solution to this mystery is tied to his own past.  He must find the killer and stop the Devil’s hold on the family before it’s too late.”

The film is said to blend The Exorcist, Death Wish and… Knives Out?!

The final new horror release for this Tuesday is Alter Ego, headed to On Demand platforms from Indican Pictures. Eric Roberts and Dylan Walsh from “Nip/Tuck” star in this one.

“Detective DiBiasse (Oscar® nominee Eric Roberts, Runaway Train) arrives at his last crime scene, the mansion of a wealthy, yet paranoid recluse named Alan Schaeffer (Dylan Walsh, FX’s “Nip/Tuck”). As Detective Dibiasse is accompanied by a new detective, he soon begins to weave together the strange story of Alan Schaeffer, a once renowned author of a best selling serial killer book series, who now vehemently insists that one of his creations is trying to kill him. Surrounded by security who reportedly see nothing, no one can help Alan Schaeffer as the police move on without a second thought. Yet, shortly after, Detective Dibiasse is summoned back to the mansion and is met with a horrible, brutal crime and not a suspect in sight.”

From director, writer and producer Ezio Massa (5 A.M.), the film festival hit also stars Steven Stanulis (5th Borough), Deborah Twiss (Kick-Ass) and Rodrigo Guirao Díaz (Dead End).

We jump to Thursday, February 10th for these next three releases, the first of which is Steven Soderbergh‘s brand new psychological thriller KIMI, which stars Zoë Kravitz.

The film will be streaming exclusively on HBO Max February 10.

“The film’s title refers to a fictitious Alexa/Siri-like voice-activated digital assistant called KIMI. It hears everything you say all the time, recording everything for a Big Brother-like corporation. Kravitz plays Angela Childs, a voice stream interpreter who overhears a murder on a recording she was analyzing. Angela is shaken after reaching out to her colleagues. Why are her employers resistant to her trying to bring this to the authorities’ attention?”

David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Snake Eyes, Panic Room, Stir of Echoes, and You Should Have Left) wrote the script for KIMI. You can check out the official trailer below.

Next up we have Shapeless, coming to VOD platforms February 10. The Samantha Aldana-directed indie made its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last year.

The film follows Ivy, a struggling singer in New Orleans who is trapped in the hidden underworld of her eating disorder and must face her addiction – or risk becoming a monster.

That brings us to Friday, February 11th, which has a few more treats in store. For starters, Those Who Walk Away will introduce a brand new horror villain named the “Rotcreep.”

VMI’s Those Who Walk Away follows Max and Avery (Booboo Stewart and Scarlett Sperduto) on their first date. After meeting on a social media app, their evening takes a perilous turn when they end up at a local haunted house, the home of ‘Rotcreep’, a sinister creature that rots your body and soul with one touch.

As the night turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse Max and Avery begin to realize the trauma they share may either save them or erupt into an unforgettable nightmare.

Written and directed by Robert Rippberger (Public Enemy Number One, 7 Days in Syria), Those Who Walk Away was “filmed in a series of long continuous takes.”

Jefferson Moneo‘s UFO cult thriller Cosmic Dawn will also release on Friday, February 10, coming to select theaters as well as at-home On Demand platforms.

Emmanuelle Chriqui (“Entourage”) and model Camille Rowe star.

Rowe is Aurora, a young woman who joins the UFO cult ‘The Cosmic Dawn‘ to help understand her own mother’s alien abduction that she witnessed as a child. Lured in by mysterious book store owner Natalie (Chriqui), Aurora starts to realize that the cult, as cults usually are, has more of a sinister agenda.

Writer/director Moneo says that he based the film off his own extraterrestrial encounter as a child, the press release had explained. “The film is an intense, colorful look at this strange community, floating on the borders between thriller, horror, and sci-fi.”

The final treat for this week is Shudder’s Valentine’s Day special  Joe Bob’s Heartbreak Trailer Park, a double feature of horror movies coming to Shudder this Friday at 9pm EST.

Joe Bob Briggs will be joined by FOUR special guests for a double feature of two unique films that explore the heartbreaking and horrifying side of Valentine’s Day.
