Esther will return in upcoming Orphan prequel Orphan: First Kill, with Isabelle Fuhrman reprising the role and William Brent Bell (The Boy, Separation) directing the movie.
Orphan: First Kill has been acquired for release by Paramount, but we don’t yet have a release date at this time. It’s coming soon, however, and it’s been officially rated “R.”
While you wait for a release date, an official teaser poster was shared on Instagram by William Brent Bell over the weekend, while Fuhrman filmed herself for a trailer reaction video.
Of course, the Orphan: First Kill trailer hasn’t actually been released to the public yet, but Fuhrman watched it and she promises that fans are going to “freak out” when they see it.
That trailer, if Fuhrman’s IG post is any indication, is coming very soon. In the meantime, check out the Orphan: First Kill poster below, which reveals one of the prequel’s taglines:
“She will kill to be part of a family.”
In Orphan: First Kill, “Leena Klammer (aka Esther) orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.”
Old school trickery, we’ve heard, will allow Fuhrman to reprise the role of Esther.
