Chicago-based Forever Safe Productions has shared with Bloody a first look at their latest horror, Vampirus, which is currently being shopped to buyers for release in 2022.
“The movie follows a young vampire who joins an unlikely ally to hunt prey during the coronavirus quarantine.”
Ryan Ohm directed the project and brings a retro and edgy style to the story that’s said to be filled with plenty of bloody twists and jolting surprises.
“Vampirus shouldn’t exist. We began filming two months into quarantine when Chicago was completely shut down. We had to work quickly and adapt on the fly and as a result, the film is a pretty wild ride,” said John Lerchen, owner of Forever Safe Productions who produced and wrote the film.
The film stars Michael Holding and Ashley Marie Jones. It weas shot by Nick Silva and executive produced by Jim Lenz.
Ohm frequently directs music videos through his Chicago company Weird Life Films and works with high-profile artists like Chance the Rapper and Marina.
The soundtrack of Vampirus features many hits from Grapetooth, a collaboration between Clay Frankel, guitarist and vocalist of Twin Peaks and Chris Bailoni, who produces under the alias Home-Sick.
