‘Panic in the Woods’ Receives New Map and More in Free Halloween Update [Trailer]

Fitting that Exit Plan Games launched their extraction co-op title Panic in the Woods on Friday the 13th last month, as the game now has a free Halloween update. Available now, the update gives players a new level to explore that just so happens to be haunted by a new monster, face fresh challenges, and unlock new tools — like a lasso and grappling hook — to aid in their survival. Best of all, if you haven’t snagged Panic in the Woods yet, treat yourself this Halloween with a 20% discount during Steam Scream Fest until November 4!

Panic In the Woods is a horror co-op extraction adventure that’s set “in the dark corners” of Exit Plan Games’ Bang-on Balls universe. You and your friends are Boy Scouts lost in the forest. Equipped with walkie-talkies, you must rely on each other to survive as you’re all hunted by a terrifying monster. You’ll need to banish it for good by carefully exploring the surrounding areas, and find the keys and corresponding gates that transport you to various realms, from which you’ll need to extract the skulls to perform the banishing ritual.

There are several items at your disposal to help you and your team in this endeavor. Not only will you have items to help locate keys and gates, but also trap and power-ups to evade the monster, or noise producing items to attract it. You’ll need to be smart about them, as you’ll only find so many to use.

But you’ll need to be smart, as the monster is always hunting you and your team. It’s also very sensitive to noise, so hide and try to remain quiet, or distract it if you can. Blow it, and it’s game over for you.
