The saga that is Paradox’s Bloodlines 2 is still going, though any updates on the game’s troubled development has been in short supply. Paradox has stated that that game is still very much in development, and in a new interview, offered fans some faint hope that the game will arrive next year.
In a translated interview with Swedish website Privata Affärer, Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester was asked the company’s scheduled release of games, which inevitably turned to Bloodlines 2. Wester stated that the company “feels very good about Bloodlines 2” in regards to its development, and added that Paradox will probably be able to set a launch date “reasonably soon.” He elaborated, saying that Paradox has been wary of announcing things, due to being “burned a little bit on Bloodlines 2″.
Wester said that Paradox feels the game is “in very good hands”, despite Paradox not revealing who took over development duties after original developer Hardsuit Labs was taken off the project last year. Furthermore, Paradox is “incredibly satisfied” with what they’ve seen so far in regards to the game’s progress.
As for a release date, Wester said that it’s “absolutely not impossible” that Bloodlines 2 could launch sometime in 2023.
Currently, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is in development for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
