Esther is back in upcoming prequel Orphan: First Kill, with Isabelle Fuhrman returning to play the character and William Brent Bell (The Boy, Separation) directing the new movie.
THR reports today that Orphan: First Kill has now been acquired for release by Paramount, the studio picking up the domestic rights to the prequel from eOne and Dark Castle.
First Kill doesn’t yet have a release date, but filming is complete.
In Orphan: First Kill, “Leena Klammer (aka Esther) orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.”
David Coggeshall (“Scream”) wrote the prequel’s script.
Orphan writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick executive produces.
