Peachfuzz is Back: Mark Duplass Announces More ‘Creep’ is On the Way

The Creep franchise will continue, along with potentially more Tubby Time, with the announcement of a new Creep installment revealed in a mysterious new video from Mark Duplass on TikTok today.

Creep 3 appears to be “coming soon” in the new announcement video, but the details are scarce as of yet.

Watch the video below.

A third film in the Mark Duplass-starring, Patrick Brice-directed Creep franchise has been in the works for a couple years now, but it sounded like Duplass and Brice are struggling to come up with a concept that warrants another film. Speaking with Indiewire in 2020, Duplass updated on Creep 3 while admitting he wasn’t 100% happy with Creep 2.

We had to almost kill ourselves to make [Creep 2] as good as it was. I appreciate how many people liked it but I do feel like it wasn’t as good as it could have been, if I’m being perfectly honest,” Duplass told the site. And it sounds like those feelings about Creep 2 have really given Duplass and Brice cold feet about rushing into a follow-up installment.

Duplass explained, “If we’re going to make a third one, it’d better be super inspired. We are trying and we are putting effort into it, but we are not good enough yet to make it worthwhile, so we are struggling. That’s really it.”

We’ve written it twice, and neither of those stories are good enough,” he added.

The franchise centers on Duplass’ character, a total creep whose name is ever-changing but whose bizarre, murderous behavior is always documented in a found footage style.

In the 2017 sequel, “Creep 2 stars Desiree Akhavan as Sara, a video artist whose primary focus is creating intimacy with lonely men. After finding an ad online for “video work” she thinks she may have found the subject of her dreams. She drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man (Duplass) claiming to be a serial killer. Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him, but discovers she may have dug herself a hole from which she cannot escape.”

Stay tuned for additional details on this surprise sequel as they arrive.
