Director Abe Forsythe previously demonstrated a knack for genre-bending rom coms with Little Monsters, a charming horror-comedy that saw love bloom amidst a zombie-infested school field trip that featured Josh Gad in a supporting role. Forsythe has reteamed with Gad to tackle a new romantic dramedy with a genre twist in Peacock’s “Wolf Like Me.”
The series’ title and the new trailer below tease just what that horror twist might be. Might the budding romance at the center of this series get a little hairy due to a dangerous secret?
“Everyone brings their own set of baggage to a new relationship. Gary (Gad) and Mary (Isla Fisher) are no different. Gary is an emotional wreck and struggles to provide for his daughter since the death of his wife. Mary has a secret she can’t bring herself to share with anyone. The universe brought these two together for a reason, they just need to keep following the signs.”
“Wolf Like Me” Series Creator/Director Forsythe said of his series, “I’d love for audiences to go into watching the series not knowing where it’s going or what gets revealed as the show progresses because I think if that happens, then it’s going to shock and surprise people. You get to the end of every episode and there’s a reason that you have to keep watching.”
Gad and Fisher serve as executive producers on the new show, alongside Forsythe, Jodi Matterson (Roar), Bruna Papandrea (“Big Little Lies”, “Nine Perfect Strangers”), and Steve Hutensky (Queen America).
The thirty-minute, six-episode series begins streaming on Peacock on January 13, 2022.
