You console fans wanted it, and now you’re going to get it. After what seems like forever, Kinetic Games has announced that Phasmophobia will be headed to Early Access on consoles this August. Phasmophobia will launch for the Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Playstation VR2.
“We heard you loud and clear, and now it’s finally coming,” reads the news release by the developer. While there’s no definitive release date as of yet, the post says to keep an eye out for a more detailed release date “in the coming weeks.”
Phasmophobia will launch on consoles with the Progression 2.0 update, and will be updated regularly alongside the PC version with content and bug fixes. Reporting and player bans will work across all platforms, and the dev team has added the ability to block other players from the journal, which will mute them indefinitely until you unblock them.
As an extra bonus, all platforms will feature optional crossplay! Players will be able to see which platforms their teammates are playing on by the icon displayed on their ID card.
Currently, there’s no word on how much longer the game will be in Early Access on either consoles or PC. The Steam version of the game has been in Early Access since its launch back in 2020.
