With the second entry in the Pixel Pulps Anthology coming out back in April, and the third currently set for later this year, developer LCB Game Studio has announced that the trio of games will be expanding beyond their current Steam release. The Pixel Pulps Collection, a physical-only three-in-one collection of visual novels in the series inspired by mid-20th century pulp fiction and ‘80s home computer graphics, will hit store shelves this Q4 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, courtesy of Funstock.
A definitive physical compilation of the thrilling narrative tales told across Mothmen 1966, Varney Lake, and the in-development Bahnsen Knights, The Pixel Pulps Collection will also see a digital release for those platforms, alongside versions on Steam, the Xbox One and Xbox Series at a later date.
“The pulp influence of these three stories deserve to be immortalized in physical form forever, and Funstock has been a tremendous partner in putting together a package that does justice to LCB Game Studio’s thrilling trilogy,” said Shintaro Kanaoya, president and founder, Chorus Worldwide.
All three tales feature branching narratives with puzzles and mini-games, such as Mothmen 1966’s Impossible Solitaire, and characters that speak up to help with particularly devious brain-teasers so the focus can remain on the stories themselves. The tales all centre around paranormal investigator Lou Hill, who encounters red-eyed cryptids in Mothmen 1966, investigating three kids’ supposed encounter with a vampire in Varney Lake, and a world of religious fanatics who perform ‘route exorcisms’ on highways while biblical storms rip across the county in the upcoming Bahnsen Knights.
Currently, you can snag Mothmen 1966 and Varney Lake digitally on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
