To go along with the small update for Gun Interactive’s Texas Chain Saw Massacre game yesterday, for you board game junkies, Tobe Hooper’s classic has now become a four-player co-op. Trick or Treat Studios has announced an officially licensed Texas Chainsaw Massacre board game, with pre-orders now open for a March 31, 2023 release.
Designed by Scott Rogers, with Illustrations by Terry Wolfinger, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Game (this will quickly become confusing) sees you and up to three friends recreating the events of the 1974 original film. Your van has run out of gas, leaving you and your friends stranded and at the mercy of The Family and Leatherface. You’ll have to work together and push your luck to escape. Players will pull tokens from a gruesome bag to take actions, but be careful, pulling too many may antagonize Leatherface and company. A single game can last up to an hour, and if you’re wondering, is appropriate for children 14+.
The original group of friends – Sally, Franklin, Pam, Kirk, and Jerry – are all here, along with the truck driver and the sheriff (no, not the R. Lee Ermey’s Sheriff Hoyt). Meanwhile, the Family includes Grandpa, the cook, and the Hitchhiker and of course, Leatherface.
As mentioned, pre-orders are available now for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Game, with the board game setting you back $59.95 USD.
