Developer Moonless Formless has been busy working away over the past year on their action horror game Withering Rooms, which has just received a brand new update. Alongside the usual bug fixes and tweaks, the Bloody Man Update introduces more monsters into the procedurally-generated mansion, a new item, and updates to the game’s New Game + mode.
Obviously, the Bloody Man Update adds a new enemy in the eponymous Bloody Man, who’s had his skin replaced with bandages. Bloody Man is joined by two other monsters in the Rogue Ghoul, who will attempt to steal your coins when you’re not looking, and the Lost Horse. The monsters can be found in different areas around Mostyn House.
The update adds a “Build Display Mirror”, which you can use to display all of your relevant items and stats in one screen for easy review, which also allows you to share your build with others by taking a screenshot. Also included in the update is the Prismatic Dress, which changes color over time, gradually healing both health and cursed status. You can find the dress in the New Game + prize shop.
Speaking of New Game +, the developer has tweaked a few things for the mode, including increasing monster randomness and new spawns, adding the Phantom Thread outfit to the store, and the New Game ++ having random upgrade treasures added throughout the map. This is all on top of the various bug fixes, tweaks and polishing to the game.
Withering Rooms is expected to leave Early Access next year.
