It’s time to put M3GAN back together, as Blumhouse has announced this morning that principal photography is now underway on M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to the box office horror hit.
M3GAN 2.0 arrives in theaters on June 27, 2025. Check out an early tease below…
Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are back for the sequel, with Akela Cooper (Malignant, M3GAN) once again writing the script and James Wan on board to produce. Deadline also reports today that Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari and Jemaine Clement have joined the cast.
Gerard Johnstone (M3GAN) is back to direct the upcoming sequel.
SPOILER WARNING: M3GAN ends with the titular doll being destroyed, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Child’s Play franchise it’s that killer dolls can never truly be killed!
M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally.
Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma, M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to.
Additionally, the M3GAN Universe will expand with a Blumhouse spinoff movie titled SOULM8TE, which is being billed as a ’90s-style erotic thriller with a “new technological twist.”
In SOULM8TE, a man acquires an Artificially Intelligent android to cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife. In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, he inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate. The spinoff arrives in theaters January 2, 2026.
