It’s been a long while since we last talked about 100 Games and Gamersky.com’s Anthology of Fear. The game is still very much alive, and now has a release date. Arriving March 17th, 2023 on Steam, Anthology of Fear will be co-developed with Oh Deer Studio, produced and published by 100 Games, and will focus on exploring human subconsciousness.
Originally, Anthology of Fear featured three unique stories, each unrelated in plot and with distinctive gameplay elements. That has now been changed to involve the player taking part in a one-man investigation, trying to solve the mystery of the mysterious disappearance of your character’s brother. Your personal investigation leads you into an abandoned medical facility.
Gradually, you discover its disturbing past, as well as what happened to people associated with it. You’ll have to find their way out of the nightmare through “spine-chilling, liminal locations, all while fighting the horrors of human subconsciousness.” As you progress chapter by chapter, you’ll face grave danger while the game explores and tests your fears.
Currently, Anthology of Fear has a demo available on Steam for you to try. No word on the game appearing on consoles, despite the original intention for the game to see an appearance on the Nintendo Switch.
