If mainstream titles got their moment to shine during Summer Game Fest last week, why can’t Puppet Combo get a show of their own? That’s exactly what happened last night, as the Puppet Combo Direct not only revealed a handful of new titles, but also updates to titles that have previously been released.
Kicking things off is news that Puppet Combo’s long-awaited Stay Out of The House will finally get a full release next month on Steam. Inspired by VHS-era slasher movies and classic PS1 Survival Horror titles, Stay Out of The House puts you inside the house of a cannibalistic serial killer known as The Butcher. How you got here, or why you’re here in the first place isn’t known. What is known is that you’ve got to escape before you end up as dinner.
If you’re a sucker for zombies (and who isn’t?), Jordan King’s Night At the Gates of Hell will certainly satisfy. Taking more than a few cues from Italian zombie films (namely Fulci), the game is described as a low-poly, 1970s Italian zombie nightmare. You play as David, who is attempting to escape the zombie infestation that’s occurred in his city, all the while trying to find the cause. You can expect this one on August 18th this year on Steam.
Then there’s Puppet Combo’s 2015 title Power Drill Massacre, which was originally released on itch.io in an incomplete state. That changes on October 6, when the game will be released on Steam in a completed state. The new version will feature new areas, expanded gameplay, AI tweaks and more quality of life improvements. There will also be new playable characters, multiple endings, and new camera angles for maximum terror.
Another new title is Deadly Night, which will arrive on Steam on August 11. Billed as “the sleaziest low-poly slasher ever created” by developer Cubyte Games, you play as Carol, who is down on her luck and hitchhiking across the country. Arriving at a small roadside motel, there’s something strange about the owner. As She digs deeper, Carol soon discovers something sinister. Now she’ll have to fight for her life and escape the motel.
Finishing off Puppet Combo Direct is Bloodwash, which we reviewed late last year. Already out on Steam, Bloodwash will now see a console release later this Summer! No exact release date or specific consoles have been announced, but you can at least expect the usual trio of platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch).
