Netflix invites you further into the mythology and madness of Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga in the viciously sexier, bloodier world of Rebel Moon with brand new Director’s Cuts Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness on August 2.
Of particular note, the Rebel Moon Director’s Cuts will be rated “R,” packed with the bloody violence that wasn’t found in the PG-13 versions of the two movies now on Netflix. We’ve been promised “brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.”
Watch the official (and bloody-as-hell) Red Band trailer for the Director’s Cuts below.
“In Snyder’s director’s cut, a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Kora, a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite in making an impossible stand against the Motherworld, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants, and orphans of war who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a new army of heroes is formed.”
From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes Rebel Moon, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.
Ed Skrein, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Sofia Boutella, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang star alongside Michiel Huisman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Alfonso Herrera.
