As much as we had hope for Back 4 Blood, it didn’t come close to the excitement and fun of the Left 4 Dead series. There’s still time for the former to redeem itself. After all, Left 4 Dead had a rocky start.
And to remind fans of where it all started, GVMERS has released a brand-new documentary on the history (and controversy) of Left 4 Dead. From its beginnings as a Counterstrike mod, and thanks to a little help from 28 Days Later, Left 4 Dead and its sequel turned into some of the best co-op action of the past decade. And the fact that Back 4 Blood exists is a testament to Left 4 Dead‘s appeal, even if Back 4 Blood hasn’t quite had the same success.
Back 4 Blood recently had its first DLC expansion “Tunnels of Terror” released, so perhaps it’s the start of something good for the game? Back 4 Blood is available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The original Left 4 Dead and its sequel can be found on Steam, as well as the Xbox 360.
